Is this weird behaviour for a Granny?
by Princess Daisy Boo ini know a couple of you jwd'ers are grandparents and even if you aren't - i would still like an opinion - is this odd behaviour?.
my little boy is in grade 00 at a local school and next week tthursday morning, they are having a concert for the grandparents.
when i told my mom in law, she immediately pencilled it into her diary and confirmed that she would attend.

How many borg members believe the genocide teaching?
by ldrnomo injust wondering, most members i've talked to over the years including me did not really think jehovah was going to destroy everyone that was not a jw or even half of everyone who was not a dub.
even a prominent elder in the cong i was in didn't buy that teaching (probabley because his daughter was not in) .
so how many do you think believe this teaching?

Do you think JWs actually care if they convert people or not?
by LouBelle inthe reason i ask this is because when i was on the field way back in the day - i really couldn't be bothered if the householder was interested or not.
if they took literature and paid for it (we asked a certain price for literature before it all became on a donation basis) it was a bonus, plus meant money for a cooldrink / tea & cake afterwards.. actually i would prefer it if they weren't interested so i could get away from the door - sometimes their ""conversation stoppers"" made too much sense and i couldn't answer back.. that meant i didn't convert anybody.
do you think most of the jws' are like that today?

one aspect of mind control is thought control by using "loaded language"
by megaflower inwe all know the wts has its own set of words and expressions that make them unique and sets them a part from other organizations.
lets see how many we can come up with.
i'll start.

Most LUDICROUS thing you've ever heard at the KINGDOM HALL
by berylblue ini certainly have heard a lot of idiotic stuff during my tenure as a witness - but this one is priceless:.
a neophyte was complaining about the heat, humidity, physical effort, etc., involved in attending the district convention at veteran's stadium in philadelphia - and she was right.
it was miserable.

Why I don't want to associate with pioneers
by JimmyPage insometimes i get flak for not having more "spiritual" associates.
the reason i don't really care for pioneers is that whatever interests or hobbies they have get replaced by the whole pioneering thing.
they become less like normal people and become more a clone of what a good dub "should" be.
